Learn about peace, healing at “The Power of Meditation” class

ROCK SPRINGS – If the hectic pace of life is bringing you down, join the library system for an evening of learning and healing on March 12.

White Mountain Library, 2935 Sweetwater Drive in Rock Springs, is hosting “The Power of Meditation” class taught by Chad Millemon, author of “Ascension Meditation – an Introduction and Guidebook” and the upcoming book, “The Way of the Mystic – Devotion and Liberation.” The class is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.

“Meditation is good for your soul, your spirit,” said Michelle Maser, White Mountain Library manager, who has attended Millemon’s class. “It can help you reach a better place in your life.”

“There’s a myth about meditation that you have to quiet the mind – that if you don’t quiet the mind, you’re not meditating,” Maser added. “Chad will help dispel these myths and walk you through the techniques.”

The class is good for those just starting meditating, and those who are advanced, Maser said.

Millemon has taught and lectured worldwide, presenting retreats, classes, workshops and talks on consciousness and meditation since 1999. He currently resides in Rock Springs and has presented many programs at the library over the past few years.

Millemon describes meditation is a powerful tool that helps people enhance awareness of themselves and the world around. It can help anyone overcome the addiction to the countless thoughts that race through the mind each day.

In “The Power of Meditation” class, all participants will learn very simple and powerful meditation techniques as well as clear instruction on how to apply them in their lives most effectively.
