Dear Sir or Madam:

I am a non-traditional student at Western Wyoming Community College, and in my two semesters here, I have learned some very valuable information. Besides my studies, I have become a member of the nation-wide A.N.T.S Club (Association of Non-Traditional Students). In becoming a member, I have learned the value of community. The A.N.T.S Club is a great way to interact with students of the same age groups, but also the same circumstances. We help each other with studies, children activities, networking, and most of all we work as a group to raise money for many different community needs.

A.N.T.S. Club accomplishments during the school year 2016-2017 include:

  • Purchasing Christmas gifts for 10 residents at Sage View Care Center also purchase a cake and spent an afternoon visiting and reminiscing.
  • Hand out candy to trick-or-treaters during the WWCC Children’s Center Halloween Parade on campus.
  • Volunteer at the annual Cowboys Against Cancer event at the Sweetwater Events Center.
Sponsor 3-to-4 person teams for Bowling for Kid’s Sake, A.N.T.S members, and their families form bowling teams and help our kids bowl. All team fees collected are to support Big Brothers/Big Sister’s Program.
  • We also hosted an Easter egg hunt every year for the Children’s Center. They rely on us to put this event on for them.
  • We raised money to send Foster Children to educational/sports summer camps.

As this school year, 2017-2018 progresses we are raising funds to do these wonderful projects again. We have many opportunities for the public to help us raise the funds we need to accomplish our many community projects, all of which are here on campus. We hold bake sales and raffle tickets, in which we all make different food to sell. We have pottery and blankets donated to our club, to be raffled off. All the donations we receive go towards our community in one way or other.

As donation based fundraising, we could use the help of the public. We are holding another bake sale here on campus on April 26, 2018, from 10 am to 2 pm. Please come join us in helping the children of our community.

If anyone would like to donate to the A.N.T.S club, please feel free to contact any of us. Below is a list of Club members and staff at WWCC.

Sincerely,

Jeanette Wieburg
