RSHS Cross Country shows early season strength as Ramsey and Piaia both finish second at the Cardinal Classic in Idaho

ROCK SPRINGS – For many of us, a nice jog through the countryside is not exactly fun and is definitely not relaxing. We have to stop every five minutes just to try to breath as all the oxygen has rapidly left our bodies. For the Rock Springs Cross Country team, it is so much more as runners continue to fight to keep a strong tradition in Wyoming high school athletics alive.

The Rock Springs young men’s team continues to show why they are again near the top of the competition. Recently, the team had a chance to head to Idaho to compete against some of the top runners in the state of Idaho. Not only did seven of the top 10 times for Tiger runners come from the Cardinal Classic, Krey Ramsey continued to show why he is one of the favorites this season.

Ramsey posted his fastest time of the year at the Cardinal finishing in 16:37.37. Ramsey finished in second place overall with the top time being put up by Pocatello finishing in 16:04.00.
