DUBOIS — Sara Beth Zabriskie Phelps was born 28 Sept 1982 to David Zabriskie and Sharon McCune Zabriskie at Hill AFB UT.
She was the second of five children and their only daughter. She lived in many places including Utah, California, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming and Germany.
She attended school at Bar Nunn Elementary, Centennial JHS, Dean Morgan JHS and graduated from Natrona County High School in 2000. She received her Associates Degree in Science from Casper College and worked in the medical field as a CNA, a Phelbotomist and Receptionist.
As her sweetheart, William Phelps likes to say, “Her life really began when she met me!”
After a whirlwind courtship, Sara and Will were married 26 Dec 2009 in the LDS Logan Temple, Logan, UT where they were sealed for time and all eternity. Will was a widower when they met and had two sons and a daughter. Sara and Will would go on to have five more children, all sons, for a total of eight. Seven sons and one daughter.
Sara’s husband and children were her world!
She was diagnosed with breast cancer last Spring. Their last son, Isaac, was born seven weeks early in order for chemo treatments to begin.
After becoming aware of Sara’s health the LDS community and the Green River community, in general. They rallied around their young family and offered untold hours of service, prayers, and support.
Sara was blessed with amazing friends and their love and help eased her days more than can be expressed!
Sara passed away on 7 Feb 2018 at McKay Dee Hospital Odgen, UT after a 10 month battle with cancer.
She was an example of unwavering faith, hope and love in our Savior, Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost.
She is survived by her husband, William Phelps and their children: William, Joseph, Lilianna, Matthew, Adam, Zacharias, Kyle and Isaac, her parents, her maternal grandmother, Joanne McCune and her paternal grandfather, Robert Zabriskie, her brothers: Robert (Angela), Thomas (Christine), Daniel (Jessica) and Jonathan (Kristen), sisters Heather (Lynn) Ward and Doerthe (Hendrik) Hoeth plus countless nieces, nephews, loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
