GRAND JUNCTION — Sharla Dawnette Gilmore, 59 passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
She was a resident of Fruita, Colorado for the past four years and former resident of Green River, Wyoming. She died following a lengthy illness.
Dawnette was born on December 8, 1958, in Price, Utah, the daughter of Donald Carey Winters and Jolene Scovill.
She attended schools in Green River, Utah, and Moab, Utah.
She married Houston John Lunsford Gilmore in Green River, Wyoming on January 19, 1979.
Their union was later solemnized in the Manti temple.
Survivors include her mother Jolene Dalton of Green River, Utah one son Chris Gilmore and wife Stephani of Green River, Wyoming, two daughters, Stephanie Galand and husband Stephane of Grand Junction, Colorado and Kari Merrick and husband Robert of Evanston, Wyoming, one sister, Pam Marsing of Moab, Utah, seven grandchildren, Tristan, Ashley, Cameron, Garrett, Shawn, Damien and Cole, four uncles, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Gilmore, father Don Winters, maternal grandparents Alma Scovill and wife Leona.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral chapel one hour prior to services.
