WWCC’s Green River Center to remain closed until January

Beginning Monday, GRC classes will be held in alternate locations; Tuesday’s Collegiate Chorale Concert will be held at GRHS

GREEN RIVER – Western Wyoming Community College’s Green River Center will remain closed until January due to the boiler malfunction that occurred Thursday morning, the College announced on Friday. A new boiler is expected to be installed in the next several weeks.

Friday classes and activities at GRC were canceled due to the boiler issue, which has left the facility without heat or running water. Beginning Monday, GRC classes will resume at other locations at their normal meeting times. Students and community members should note that the GRC computer labs are also closed and will re-open with the rest of the building next month.

The Green River Collegiate Chorale Concert, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m., will go on as scheduled but will now take place at Green River High School. The GRC Communication classes will also meet at GRHS, and class instructors will contact their students with specific room information.

Western thanks GRHS, its administration and staff for providing a suitable alternate location for the Communication classes and also for the highly anticipated Green River Collegiate Chorale Concert, which marks the 25th anniversary of Western’s Green River Chorale program. Western also thanks officials with the Masonic Temple and the Senior Center for making their facilities available for classes.

Next week is the final week of classes before final exams, which begin on Friday, Dec. 13.
