ROCK SPRINGS – The Rock Springs City Council unanimously approved two appointments, one to the Joint Powers Water Board and the other to the Rock Springs Historical Museum Board.

On Tuesday night, the council approved two board appointment nominations made by Rock Springs Mayor Carl Demshar. Councilman David Tate was absent from the meeting.

The first appointment approved was Don Hartley. He will return as the Rock Springs representative for a second term to the Joint Powers Water Board.

The second approval was Cindy Nelson. She was appointed to the Rock Springs Historical board a couple of years ago to fill an unexpired term left open. This will be Nelson’s first full term on the board.

Standing Committees

A new year often brings changes to different roles on government boards. Rock Springs residents saw this two weeks ago as the council unanimously picked Rose Mosbey to be the 2016 Rock Springs Council President. At the meeting, the council approved the standing committee assignments for the upcoming year.
