Significant snowfall is expected over the eastern slopes of the Wind River Mountains, central and southern Bighorn Mountains, as well as Casper Mountain tonight through Tuesday night. Most of the lower elevations (below 7000 feet) will change from rain to snow between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Some of the lower elevations, especially in favored upslope locations such as Casper and the Lander Foothills, could see significant snowfall.

Travel could be difficult at times over South Pass, Powder River Pass, roads over Casper Mountain, and Highway 287 and 789 in southeast Fremont County. The heavy, wet snow could lead to overexertion when shoveling.
