LARAMIE – The 2014 Wyoming State Football Championships kick off at War Memorial Stadium at the University of Wyoming this Friday and Saturday with five title games.
On Friday, Nov. 14, the Class 1A, 6-Man State Championship between Guernsey-Sunrise and Dubois will begin the weekend’s contests at Noon. The second game on Friday will feature Douglas versus Cody in the Class 3A State Championship Game kicking off at 3 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 15 will see three state title games played, beginning with the Class 2A contest between Big Horn and Mountain View at 10 a.m. The second game on Saturday will pit Cokeville against Niobrara County in the Class 1A, 11-Man Championship at 1 p.m.
This year’s Wyoming State Football Championships will conclude on Saturday with the Class 4A State Championship Game, featuring Campbell County vs. Natrona County at 4 p.m.
“I know that volunteers from throughout the Laramie community join our staff in welcoming all of the high schools and their fans to the University of Wyoming campus this weekend,” said University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman. “We want to wish all the teams the very best of luck.
“We are once again excited to host the high school football championships on Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. The NCAA rules prohibit us from promoting or publicizing these games beyond providing the basic schedule and results of the games, but that does not minimize how excited we are to have these teams at UW.”
