40 Pounds of Marijuana Seized Near Sundance

SUNDANCE — A Vermont man is in custody after crashing his vehicle north of Sundance on November 28th while transporting 40 pounds of marijuana.

The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 28th on US Highway 212 near milepost 17 just south of the Montana border in Wyoming. Conor P. McNamara, a 27 year old resident of Brattleboro, Vermont left the highway and crashed the 1997 Toyota 4Runner he was driving. McNamara was wearing his seatbelt and sustained only minor injury from the crash.

During the course of the crash investigation, a Wyoming State Trooper discovered McNamara had removed multiple bags from the Toyota and hidden them in a nearby culvert. The bags contained 40 pounds of marijuana.

With the assistance of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), McNamara was arrested and has been taken to the Crook County Detention Facility in Sundance, Wyoming. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. $2300 in cash was also seized from the arrest.

The investigation has been turned over to DCI.
