Aaron “Swede” Zuehlsdorff  (January 10, 1929 – March 1, 2015)

ROCK SPRINGS – Aaron “Swede” Zuehlsdorff, 86, of Rock Springs, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Highland Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. A long time resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming and former resident of Powder Wash, Colorado, Mr. Zuehlsdorff died following a brief illness.

He was born on January 10, 1929 in Hawley, Minnesota, the son of John H. Zuehlsdorff and Mabele Krombeck.

Mr. Zuehlsdorff attended schools in Hawley, Minnesota and Broadus, Montana.

He married Mildred M. “Millie” Toly on December 7, 1948. They were married sixty-four years.

Mr. Zuehlsdorff was employed by Mountain Fuel Supply Company for forty two years and retired as General Manager.

He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, Rock Springs Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Questarians. He enjoyed playing poker, reading western novels, history, collectiong hats, and most important spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Mildred “Millie” Zuehlsdorff of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons Byron Zuehlsdorff and wife Traci of Rock Springs, Wyoming and DuWayne Zuehlsdorff and wife Cynthia of Longmont, Colorado; four brothers Noel Zuehlsdorff of Anacortes , Washington, Roger Zuehlsdorff of Colstrip, Montana, Arlen Zuehlsdorff and wife Wanda of Billings, Montana, Dwight Zuehlsdorff and wife Helen of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisiters Velma Wittman of Federal Way, Washington, and Leith Simonson of Sturgis, South Dakota; five grandchildren Kelly Zuehlsdorff of Seattle, Washington,Laurie Zuehlsdorff of Durango, Colorado, Dotti Gramke and husband Troy of Upland, Nebraska, Tom Zuehlsdorff of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Charla Welch and husband Jason of Vinenza, Italy; four great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Dielda Barthomay and Jewel Richards and one brother John Zuehlsdorff.

Cremation will take place and memorial services are pending.
