Artists Wanted for Mural in Downtown Green River

GREEN RIVER — The Green River Mural Committee is calling upon all artists to submit proposals for design and installation services for a new art mural in downtown Green River.

An artist, muralist, or team is needed to develop and install an artistic mural on the entire eastern wall of the Castillon building, located at 551 E. Flaming Gorge Way. The mural will be a large and highly visible piece of art, and will create excitement and beauty for the community.

The wall location, which is on the old Sweetwater Creations building, faces traffic as they enter Green River from Rock Springs. The Green River Mural Committee hopes for the piece to enhance the experience of downtown Green River for both locals and visitors to the town.

The artwork must fit into the culture and history of Green River and Southwest Wyoming, along with a patriotic theme.

“We are looking for a patriotic theme as the owner of the building was a member of the military,” Katie Duncombe, Green River Program Supervisor said.

This mural is a collaboration between the Green River Arts Council, Green River Development Fund and Green River Urban Renewal/Main Street Agency.

Applications are due by Monday, March 29. Click here for the application.
