Battle of the Badges Blood Drive A Big Success

Battle of the Badges Blood Drive A Big Success

SWEETWATER COUNTY — While the Rock Springs Police Department took home the first title on Battle of the Badges, the real winners are everyone who will benefit from the first year blood drive.

Officer Mandy Daugherty of the Rock Springs Police Department said:

Thank you to all the donors who came out to the First Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive! We saw so many people from the community and first responders who were willing to take time out of their day to save lives! You are all truly heroes!

The battle was a close one! RSPD took the win but the other agencies made it a fierce battle! I look forward to adding some more agencies next year; we will really get the battle on! Look for Wyoming Highway Patrol, Green River Police Department, and Dispatchers to enter the fight for lives!

Overall, there were 91 pints of blood collected  in the two days and were really able to make a difference! Daugherty said she cannot say thank you enough to everyone who came out, all of the sponsors, and the great staff we had from United Blood Services! If you didn’t make it out, please consider going to Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 19th to donate.
