ROCK SPRINGS – Beverly Suzanne Morlan Spicer passed away January 26, 2014. She was born on July 12, 1922 to Howard and Ruth Brown Morlan in Monmouth, Oregon. She attended High School and Monmouth Teachers College in Monmouth, and graduated from Oregon State University with a business degree in 1943.
Beverly met the love of her life, Eldon Spicer, in 1942 in Monmouth where he was stationed at Camp Adair. Following his return from WWII, they were married in Oregon on September 29, 1945. They moved to Wyoming and lived in Rock Springs, Wyoming in the winters and on the Spicer Ranch north of Farson in the summers.
In 1965, Eldon and Beverly sold the ranch, and in 1970, they purchased what is now Western Wyoming Beverages, a Pepsi and Budweiser distribution business. They operated this business until 1990, when they “retired”.
Beverly’s interests included travelling, reading, PEO, on-line cribbage and solitaire, emailing with family, and dog sitting the grand dogs.
Beverly’s husband and family were always the center of her life. She loved her family dearly. In 1998, Eldon, her husband of 53 years, preceded Beverly in death.
Beverly is survived by her 5 children, Suzanne Crosley (Charles) of Green Valley, AZ, Thomas Spicer (Debbe) of Rock Springs, WY, Paul Spicer (Kathy) of Austin, TX, Robert Spicer (Cathy) of Rock Springs, WY and Martha Valentine (Fritz) of Rock Springs, WY; one sister, Charlotte Hallowell of Albany, Or; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the First Congregational Church 1275 Adams Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, North of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.at the Vase Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming and on Thursday one hour prior to services at the First Congregational Church.
The family of Beverly Suzanne Morlan Spicer will be receiving relatives and friends at the home of her son and daughter in law at 1213 Sand Pointe Circle, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
