CHEYENNE WYOMING — Cheyenne Frontier Days visitors can pick-up a National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass on their way to identifying great opportunities to recreate on Bureau of Land Management sites, all by visiting the General Land Office in Old Frontier Town at Frontier Park.

BLM Wyoming manages the General Land Office during CFD, July 17-26.

The federal passes are free to active and reserve component military members and dependents, and U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. They are $10 for a lifetime senior pass (62 years old and older) and anyone can purchase an annual pass for $80. The pass provides access to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites.

The federal passes are available from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., July 20-23, at the General Land Office, during business hours year-round at the BLM Wyoming State Office and at other BLM Wyoming offices.

Not only can visitors pick up passes, but they can take the opportunity to see what BLM Wyoming has to offer. From 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. visitors can take in special exhibits ranging from geology to wildlife (very hands on), and meet with specialists, including BLM rangers, biologists, geologists and more. BLM Wyoming Paleontologist Brent Breithaup will be featured July 22, 24 and 25, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. with his display of fossils and other discoveries.

This year, BLM Wyoming will take over #mypubliclandsroadtrip on the BLM’s Tumblr page, http://mypubliclands.tumblr.com/, from July 20-26. Visitors from around the world can see if their favorite BLM Wyoming destinations are featured (and maybe discover a few new places to go).
