ROCK SPRINGS — Communities all over the country are celebrating Arbor Day by planting new trees today.
A brief ceremony was conducted today at the High Desert Arboretum near White Mountain Golf Course. Volunteers for the city then got busy planting 20 new trees in the area.
Rock Springs Mayor Tim Kaumo make a proclamation at the City Council this week recognizing May 21, 2021 as Arbor Day.
“I urge all citizens to celebrate ARBOR DAY and to support efforts to protect our trees and woodland,” Kaumo said in his proclamtation. “I urge all citizens to plant trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this, and future, generations.”
