ROCK SPRINGS — More than 90 Rock Springs assisted living and care center residents and all of the employees at those centers have received or will receive gifts from Mary Kay.

Today, Mary Kay Representatives Barbara Casper, Amber Plemel and Stephanie Swanson delivered 40 gift boxes and about 75 smaller gifts to Sage View Care Center. The gifts to the residents included lip balm, lotion, socks, a chocolate smelling moose and a reindeer bell. All of these items were bought and donated by community members through the Angel Gifting program.

Tomorrow, the representatives will deliver around 55 gifts to Deer Trail Assisted Living residents, as well as smaller gifts for their employees.

Casper said she and the other representatives learned about the program from Mary Kay’s director, who had been doing the program for years throughout the United States.

“So we just decided to give it a try,” Casper said.

Both Casper and Plemel lost their grandmothers and they know how hard it can be living in assisted living or nursing homes. They know this year has been even harder, since visitation has been limited due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

“I just thought it would be really nice to do something to put a smile on their face, even if it is just for a day,” Plemel said.

The group is also making plans to deliver gifts to The Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center.
