SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Sweetwater County Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning to learn more about a feasibility study for the Rock Springs Youth Home.
The presentation will cover the Wyoming Department of Family Services strategic plan and vision for the expansion of the youth home. According to agenda documents, the current facility was constructed between 1993 and 1994 and requires modernization due to growing community needs and a desire to support future service expansion.
The long-term goals of the expansion are a facility solution, safe environment, educational support and community integration. The full presentation slides can be found here.
The commissioners will also hear a presentation from Sweetwater County of Travel and Tourism CEO Jenissa Meredith. The presentation will focus on the 2% lodging tax that will be on the November ballot for reauthorization.
The first change order for the Layos Drive Reconstruction project will be up for discussion. If approved, the change order will only extend the time of the substantial completion date by 32 days, not the cost.
