ROCK SPRINGS – The Organization Committee of the Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency is pleased to announce its October Volunteer of the Month – Deborah Burback.
Deborah moved to Rock Springs from Utah over eight years ago. She really enjoys living in Rock Springs and has always enjoyed volunteering her time.
Prior to moving to Rock Springs, Deborah volunteered for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and helped feed the homeless through a church organization. Since she has been in Rock Springs, she has volunteered at the Desert View Humane Society, National High School Rodeo (all four years), the Sweetwater Blues n’ Brews Festival, Mountain States Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals, Rods and Rails Car Show and, most recently, at the Downtown Pumpkin Patch.
Deborah believes it is important to support and give back to our local community. “Not only do you have the opportunity to meet some great folks who have a similar passion to serve but also, of course, you have the opportunity to help others,” she said.
“I always support food drives and look for other ways to support others and to be a part of my community,” she added.
Deborah is a big fan of hockey (Utah Grizzlies) and football (Seattle Seahawks #12thman). If she had one wish, it would be that everyone had the opportunity to learn and enjoy reading.
