ROCK SPRINGS — Dennis William King, 65, passed away on March 20, 2020, at the University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, Colorado.
He was the husband of Jean Louise Butler King (Jeanne), to whom he was married for 38 years. Dennis was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was the son of Edward Cecil King and Elinor Marie Smith King.
After graduating from Rock Springs High School, he attended Brigham Young University, and he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern Germany for two years. He graduated from BYU with a double major in Economics and Communications. He then attended the University of San Francisco School of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate degree. He also earned a Master of Laws in Tax Law from the University of Denver. Dennis had his own private legal practice and worked as a Trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
Dennis loved spending time with his family and 11 grandchildren. He loved researching his family history, and when he was in better health, he enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. He was a kind, caring, and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his spouse, Jeanne, his brothers, Robert King (Kay), James King (Marsha), and sister, Karen Paul (Kevin). He is also survived by his children, Kristin Marie King Hess (Spencer), Stephen B. King (Nicole), David W. King (Kellie), Tyler D. King (Robyn), and Kevin E. King (Rachel) along with his 11 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Elinor King.
His funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. The services will be live-streamed for viewing. Due to the COVID-19 situation, only family will be in attendance. Interment will be at the St. Simeon Cemetery, Aurora, Colorado.
