DEQ Names Alan Edwards As New Deputy Director Will Continue His Current Role As Administrator of Abandoned Mine Lands Division of the DEQ

WYOMING — The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director, Todd Parfitt has named Alan Edwards as the new Deputy Director for the agency.

Edwards is currently and will continue to be the administrator for the Abandoned Mine Lands Division within DEQ. He will officially begin his new role on December 31, 2014.

“Alan has demonstrated tremendous leadership in every role he has filled with the agency,” said Todd Parfitt, DEQ Director. “Alan has served as the AML Administrator for 4 years and unselfishly served as the interim Land Quality Division and Solid and Hazardous Waste Division Administrators prior those positions being filled.”

The Deputy Director and Land Quality Division positions were made vacant following the departure of Nancy Nuttbrock. “I want to thank Nancy for her service to the DEQ as the Land Quality Administrator and Deputy Director,” added Parfitt.  “She has done an outstanding job and shown great leadership during her time here, she will be greatly missed.”

One of Edward’s first actions as Deputy Director will be to fill in as LQD Administrator as the agency goes through the selection process.
