Influenza, or “flu”, is a serious disease the can lead to hospitalization and in some cases death. Each flu season is very different, as influenza can affect people differently each year. Even healthy individuals can get sick from the flu and then spread it to others. Flu season can begin as early as October and lasts as late as May. During this period of time, flu viruses are found in higher levels in the U.S.

An annual flu vaccine is the best way to reduce your chances of contracting seasonal influenza and then spreading it to others. When more people get the vaccine, less flu is spread throughout the community.

This flu clinic is available for existing patients of Memorial Hospital Family Medicine or Memorial Hospital Pediatrics, ages 6 months and older. Insurance will not be billed, unless under the age of 18 and covered by Medicaid. No additional nursing or clinical costs will be charged.
