Erramouspe Chooses St. Ambrose University for Softball

ROCK SPRINGS — Ava Erramouspe was the latest Rock Springs High School athlete to sign her national letter of intent to continue her athletic career after graduation in a few weeks.

Joined by her coaches and parents, Erramouspe inked her deal with St. Ambrose University (SAU) where she will link up with the Lady Fighting Bees softball team.

Initially she didn’t want to go to SAU since all of her siblings had attended school there. But after a visit to the school and meeting the softball coaches and team, she quickly changed her mind.

“They just generally cared about everything on the team which was nice to see,” Erramouspe said.

Erramouspe has been playing softball since she was able to hold a bat. When she started playing traveling ball with Rock Springs Storm, that’s when she truly fell in love with the sport.

Over the past two seasons, she’s had the chance to help get the RSHS Lady Tigers softball program up and running. For her, getting to be a part of the first couple of teams has been special.

“It’s been one of the best experiences of my life,” Erramouspe said.

Among her favorite memories throughout her softball career is winning multiple state on the traveling team. The fun she had and skills she developed made it unforgettable and impactful.

For the Lady Tigers, Erramouspe currently plays third base. That could change as she’s not sure what position she’ll serve for the Fighting Bees.

“I’m just hoping to be a better player, even if I don’t play much I’m just excited to contribute in any way that I can for the team,” Erramouspe said.

She plans to major in biology and then pursue a career in the medical field.
