Father/daughter team named September Volunteer’s of the Month
ROCK SPRINGS – The Organization Committee of the Rock Springs Main Street/URA is pleased to announce their September Volunteers of the Month – the father-daughter team of Max and Emery Mickelson.
Max moved to Rock Springs in August 2000 and opened Able Hands with his business partner in December 2006. He says, “I love Sweetwater County, am proud to have my family here, and wouldn’t live anywhere else.” He is married to Darcie Punches and they have one daughter, Emery. Max has served on the Rock Springs Soccer Association, Avengers and United Way boards. He has also coached both recreational and competitive soccer. Max currently serves on the Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees and is the chairman of the Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities. Additionally, he’s on the Governor’s Employment First task force through the Department of Health. Emery is enjoying her first year as a kindergartner. She is active in her Sunday school group at Holy Communion Episcopal Church. She plays soccer, takes gymnastics, and is very excited to start piano lessons next week.The Rock Springs Main Street/URA is charged with the redevelopment of Downtown Rock Springs. As part of their mission, there are four standing committees – Economic Restructuring, Organization, Promotions and Design. The Organization Committee plays a key role in keeping the Board, Committees, staff and programs of work in good shape by attracting people and funds for the organization.
