The final Family Fun Run this summer is Monday

ROCK SPRINGS – From people changing colors, to zombies, to even contestants from the Biggest Loser, this summer’s Family Fun Runs have given residents a fun and enjoyable way to add exercise to the routine.

This Monday, Aug. 18, the Civic Center Programs Department will have the final run of the summer. Participants are asked to meet at the Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Administration Building at 8 p.m. This week’s theme is a glow run.

Registration starts at 7:30 p.m. with the run beginning at 8 p.m. and the department will be handing out glow bracelets and necklaces for the participants.

Whether you’re a beginner or competitive runner, residents can join us for a fun, low-key run/walk that’s safe and social.  The run is typically no more than 50 minutes, although 50 is not a magic number. The event planners try to have runs go “out and back” so that everyone can start and finish together and run at their own pace with others of similar ability.

New runners may only want to run a mile or two; experienced athletes might do a tempo run.  This is geared towards families and people of all ages.  Walking is also encouraged.  There is no fee to participate.

An adult must be present for children 12 and under.
