RIVERTON – The National Weather Service office in Riverton has issued a Fire Weather Watch for portions of central and southwestern Wyoming, in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

The watch advised that hot, dry, and windy conditions are expected to develop across portions of Lincoln, Uinta, Sweetwater, Fremont, Natrona, and Johnson counties around noon Thursday continuing into Thursday evening. These conditions combine with critically dry fuels will bring conditions favorable for rapid fire spread.
