ROCK SPRINGS — First Congregational Church will host The Blessing of the Jerseys, a special worship service taking place in the Church Sanctuary at 1275 Adams Avenue on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 10:30 am.

First Congregational Church is excited to bring The Blessing of the Jerseys to Rock Springs and Southwest Wyoming for the first time.

This is a special worship service that invites fans and athletes of all ages and abilities to come worship in their favorite jersey or sports apparel and receive a special blessing.

First Congregational Church rejoices in inviting our community of Rock Springs and Southwest Wyoming to join us in this special service.

Professional or college sports fans, high school and middle school players, youth team members and adult recreational league players, and everyone in between.

First Congregational Church looks forward to extending warm hospitality to all in keeping with the extravagant welcome of Jesus Christ.

Reverend Jason Boyd, Pastor, avid sports fan, and former adult league hockey player, is very excited to bring this service to Rock Springs.

Rev. Boyd notes, “There is no aspect of our lives in which God is not present. While God does not sit back and choose one sports team over another, certainly God walks with us even when we are on the court or rink or field. This amazing God who loves us so dearly calls us to create the world Jesus envisioned, even in our play. This service will be exuberant and joyful, opening us up to new ways for God’s Holy Spirit to reach us.”
