ROCK SPRINGS — Some Western Wyoming Community College (Western) students and future graduates in the plant operator and instrumentation and electronics programs were already offered jobs thanks to a partnership between Western and Genesis Alkali.
On Friday, April 29, Genesis Alkali representatives met with Western instructors, students, and graduates in the plant operator and instrumentation and electronics programs to conduct interviews for the purpose of making contingent job offers.
“The programs have been a huge success and we look forward to continuing to give students from these programs opportunities. It is anticipated that all the students who successfully complete these programs, will find employment opportunities in the industry, prior to or upon completion of having received their certificates and degrees,” according to a press release from Genesis.
Both programs feed pools for future hires into the trona and other related industries, and both programs have seats available for this fall. Western is working closely with industry leaders to identify and custom design training programs that will prepare students for these jobs.
Congratulations to those selected!
