Green River announces Christmas trash and tree collection dates

GREEN RIVER – Now all the fun of Christmas is over, the cleanup begins. The city of Green River announced plans for garbage collection including Christmas tree pickup.

The city will provide free pickup service for bagged or boxed Christmas waste only on your collection day from December 29th through January 2nd. The city is asking residents to place the bags near your collection container on your scheduled collection day. Bagged and boxed waste will be picked up separately from the trash in your can. The city is also requesting residents to have the trash out by 7 a.m.

Green River staff said Christmas trees will be picked up, at no charge, the week of Jan. 5 through Jan. 9, 2015. Place your tree near your collection container on your scheduled collection day.

If residents would like to take their tree to the Landfill it will re-open on Saturday, Dec. 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trees will be mulched at the landfill.
