SWEETWATER COUNTY — Three high school basketball players from Green River High School and Rock Springs High School earned 4A 2019 All-State honors.

All-State selections are based upon votes submitted by coaches. According to WyoPreps, Chase Stoeger from GRHS was the only boys basketball player from Sweetwater County to receive the All-State award. Joining the ranks from the girls side are Madelyn Heiser from GRHS and Brenli Jenkins from RSHS.

Stoeger, who played his last season in a Wolves jersey, put together a convincing resume throughout the season. In the West Region, Stoeger finished the season in the top 10 in six statistical categories which include: 17.3 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, 0.7 blocks per game, 40% from the three point line and 48% field goal shooting.

Heiser became a consistent player offensively for Green River this season. Perhaps her greatest asset was the ability to find open shooters as she led all of 4A in assists with 4.1 per game. In the West Region, Heiser also ranked in the top 10 in scoring with 11.9 points per game.

Rock Springs’ freshmen point guard, Brenli Jenkins, had quite the season herself. Jenkins was named as 1st Team All-State. Averaging 16.3 points per game and 3.9 steals per game, Jenkins led the West Region in scoring and steals. She also finished the season as a 70% free throw shooter.
