CASPER – Although small in numbers, several Pronghorn tracksters made their mark on the 2015 outdoor track and field championships.
Farson-Eden has several top-ten finished led by Lady Pronghorns Carly Griffin and Kenzi Reed. Griffin had a strong meet with her highest finish coming in the shot put. Griffin’s throw of 82-04 put her in the fourth position. Kaycee’s Brytnee Streeter had the top throw in 1A with a distance of 33-03.00.
In the high jump, Griffin finished in eighth while in the discus she finished in the 13th spot. Griffin was also part of the 4×400 relay team which finished eighth. Other Lady Pronghorns on the relay team were ALexis Lehmann, Danielle Mitchelson and Nicole Cukale.
Reed could also be found in the top ten in several events. Reed’s highest finish came in the 100 hurdles as her time of 18.24 was good enough for fifth. The top time in the 1A Girl’s 100 hurdles was 16.88.
Reed added another top ten in the 300 hurdles crossing the line in eighth. She just missed a third top-ten finish in the long jump as she finished in the 12th position.
Along with helping the 4×400 relay team finish eighth, Danielle Mitchelson had a 14th place finish in the 1600 meters.
On the boy’s side, Braxton Applequist had the highest finish. In the 3200 meters he crossed the line with a time of 11:37.87 which put him in the eighth position. Hector Loredo just missed giving the Pronghorns another top ten as he finished in 12th in the 1600 meters.
