SWEETWATER COUNTY — The United States National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high wind warning for Sweetwater County effective immediately until 8 p.m. this evening.

According to the warning, Sweetwater County residents can expect south winds of 30-40 mph with gusts as high as 65 mph.

“Damaging winds are possible,” the warning states. “Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. There will be strong crosswinds across Interstate 80.”
