High Winds up to 60 MPH Expected on Thursday

SWEETWATER COUNTY — A high wind warning has been issued for Sweetwater County throughout most of Thursday with gusts expected as much as 60 mph.

The US National Weather Service (USNWS) posted an update on Wednesday afternoon stating that the high wind warning is expected to last in Sweetwater County from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“There will be a critical blowoff/blowover risk for light weight and high profiles vehicles, including empty semis and those towing camper trailers,” the post stated.

The high winds will also elevate fire weather conditions. The USNWS advises the public to avoid outdoor burning on Thursday.
