Idele Klonizos Pryich (March 24, 1930 - January 24, 2022)

Long-time Rock Springs resident since 1949, Idele Klonizos Pryich, passed away with her family by her side on January 24, 2022 at the age of 91, at Sage View Care Center.

Idele was born March 24, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents George Klonizos and Elsie Sergakis Klonizos. She grew up in Bingham Canyon, Utah, graduating from Bingham High School in 1948. She moved to Rock Springs with her family in 1949 where she met and married William V. Pryich on August 30, 1953 in Rock Springs. Dr. Pryich passed away June 20, 2008.

Idele worked at the UP Store in Rock Springs and at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. She was active in the Cretan Juniors in Utah and as a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, she was in the Arenas Club, taught Sunday School, and helped with bake sales. Idele also was a member of the Sweetwater County Ladies Medical Auxiliary.

Idele enjoyed her high school reunions, visiting family in Utah, dining out and shopping in Salt Lake City and the M Street Gang reunions. She was on a bowling team at PlaMor Bowl and loved to bake desserts and cook family dinners, including Greek delicacies. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed watching ice skating and tennis. She also enjoyed rock hunting, one-armed bandits, and scratch-off tickets from Washington state. Chocolates and Folgers coffee were favorites. She had her hair done every week at Sue’s beauty shop where many friendships were made.

Idele is survived by son George (Angelina) Pryich of Rock Springs; daughter Ann (Ron) Pryich-Olson of Mount Vernon, Washington; brother Joe (Mary) Manatos of Rock Springs; sisters-in-law Rita Klonizos of Salt Lake City and Lillian Pryich of Rock Springs; nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family of Dr. Pryich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Mike, Bill, and John, sister Evelyn Fontana and other treasured family members.

The family thanks all the special caregivers who kept Idele comfortable and safe in her home, at Deer Trail Assisted Living, and at Sage View Care Center.

We will miss your smile, laugh and generous nature. May her memory be eternal. We love you.

The Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 405 N Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the church. Graveside Services and Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

Given the continued desire to keep everyone safe due to covid, the family requests all who attend, vaccinated or not, to wear a mask.
