CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Department or Transportation advises travelers in the Cheyenne area that beginning on Monday, August 17, traffic control will be in place at various locations to support roadway patching operations.
Ramp closures will include
I-80 Eastbound to I-25 Northbound Ramp
I-25 Northbound to I-80 Westbound Ramp
West Lincolnway On-ramp to I-25 Southbound
I-25 Southbound to Missile Drive Eastbound Ramp
Horse Creek Interchange all ramps
Other work will include
Missile Drive from the I-25 structure to Westland Road
I-25 Northbound and Southbound over the structures at Lake Absaraca
These projects will not all occur at the same time, of course.
The ramp closures will happen within in the next two weeks at each location shown above and they will each be closed for four days or less.
The non-ramp work will be completed one lane at a time and traffic flow may be reduced to a single lane in each direction with minor delays.
The entirety of the patching work in the Cheyenne area should be finished by mid-September, weather permitting.
These projects are part of several road patching improvements in Southeast Wyoming this year. The wide-ranging program utilizes diverse methods to upgrade, repair, and bolster the preservation of the State’s roadway assets. This can involve a mill and overlay, concrete repairs, upgrades to modern ADA standards, and other necessary work depending on the location needs.
The contractor for the entire road patching contract is Simon Contractors out of Cheyenne. The cost is $2.9 million and it is paid for with state funds.
