Josephine A. Case (Levar) (May 19, 1931 – February 2, 2015)

ROCK SPRINGS – Josephine Ann Case, 83, a longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, but forever a faithful native of Superior passed from this life on Monday, February 2, 2015. Jo, as her friends called her, was born and raised in Superior, Wyoming.

Jo was a cheerleader at and graduated from Superior High School, always proud to be a Dragon. She married the love of her life, John Angelo Case, on November 14, 1954 in Superior, Wyoming and moved to Rock Springs where they then resided.

Jo was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community. She spent her time as a loving mother and wife who worked from before dawn until after her family went to sleep, a hard working type that many now refer to as “they don’t make them like that anymore,” and made the best potica in town. Jo also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending all their concerts, games, and events.

Jo loved to speak Slovenian, thoroughly enjoyed attending the Superior All-Class Reunions, and always shared stories about her childhood in Superior at the “D” Camp across from the hoist house and all the wonderful people in that town. She was an avid fan of whatever sports team her son Stephen was playing on as well as all the teams her husband John followed. She liked to play cards and board games

Survivors include two sons, John Angelo Case Jr. and Stephen B. Case both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two daughters, Helena M. Case of Salt Lake City, Utah and Bernadette J. Weiss and husband Morris of Rock Springs, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Max A. Weiss of Washington, D.C., Michael D. Weiss of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Jessica F. Volsey of Enid, Oklahoma, John Angelo Case III and Bradley James Case both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews including Mildred Zuelsdorff of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Joe Toly of Rock Springs, Wyoming, John Toly of Colorado and Byron Zuelsdorff of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Angelo Case, her parents Nickola and Helen Levar (Yeka Nickolich) and her siblings Mary Toly, Ann Powell, Mildred Wilde, John Levar, Paul Levar, and Mark “Marco” Levar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Friday February 6, 2015, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the rosary and on Friday afternoon at the church one hour prior to services.
