Karen Sherbeyn, 57, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming for the past five years and a former resident of Kemmerer, Wyoming, and Montana. She was born on October 9, 1963, in Red Lodge, Montana; the daughter of Howard C. Challinor and Marlene M. Larson.
Mrs. Sherbeyn attended schools in Montana and was a 1982 graduate of Philipsburg Montana High School. She married Jeffrey Sherbeyn on February 15, 1992, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mrs. Sherbeyn worked for the Sweetwater County School District #1 as Kitchen Manager at the Rock Springs Jr. High School. She loved providing for her children, baking, and being outdoors watching birds and nature. She was an avid treasure hunter.
Mrs. Sherbeyn was the owner and operator of Rompin Rangers.
Survivors include her husband Jeffrey Sherbeyn of Rock Springs, Wyoming; her mother, Marlene Challinor of Kemmerer, Wyoming; one son, Braydon “Charlie” Sherbeyn of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three daughters, Carisa A. Douget of Rapid City, South Dakota; Mandy L. Sherbeyn and Kyree Sherbeyn both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three brothers, Brian Challinor and wife Patti of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Lee Challinor and wife Donetta of Kemmerer; one sister, Brenda Challinor of Spokane, Washington; four granddaughters, Xyla, Erica, Teesa, Aria.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Challinor; paternal grandparents Howard H. Challinor and wife Rose; maternal grandparents John Larson and wife Irene, one brother Howard Challinor.
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 4:00 P.M.Monday, September 27, 2021, at Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church, 125 Firestone Road, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
