CAPER – After only having one match last week, the Rock Springs Lady Tigers Volleyball team returned to action in Casper. Despite losing to both Natrona and Kelly Walsh, the Lady Tigers continue to grow on the court.
Rock Springs entered the weekend coming off the lightest week of competition play since the start of the season. The Lady Tigers looked strong last time out as they pushed the fifth-ranked Green River Lady Wolves to five sets.
The challenges kept coming as RSHS would face third-ranked Kelly Walsh on Friday. Rock Springs looked sharp and rested and took the first set from the Lady Trojans, 25-20. KW responded evening the match at one with a 25-11 win in set two.
The Lady Tigers battled strong in the third but lost crucial points late as Kelly Walsh grabbed a 2-1 lead with the 25-23 win. The Lady Trojans closed out Rock Springs in the fourth with a 25-11 win.
After a strong showing on Friday, Rock Springs returned to the court on Saturday against Natrona. The Lady Fillies looked sharp from the start and won in three, 25-14, 25-15, 25-19.
Rock Springs dropped to 0-3 in conference play while the two Casper schools remained perfect in conference play. The Lady Tigers have a busy week of play next week. On Sept. 20 the ladies are scheduled to head to Evanston for a conference battle. They then will take a small break from conference play as they return to Casper and tournament play over the weekend.
