Lady Tigers Ready to Dig Out Win in Green River

JACKSON – The Lady Tigers had their first conference win in sight but a late push by Jackson spoiled the party. Rock Springs will look to get that back on Wednesday as they face Green River for the second time.

Both Jackson and Rock Springs entered play on Friday focused on getting conference win one. It was all Lady Tigers at the start. They took the first set 25-16 and followed it with a close, second-set win, 26-24. The Lady Broncs were able to battle back and take the third set by three points, 25-22 and evened the match with a 25-17 fourth-set win. Both teams let in fly in the fifth and deciding set but in the end, it was Jackson with the set, 15-13, and the match.

On Wednesday, Wolves Arena will be pink as Rock Springs and Green River will face off in its annual breast cancer awareness game. The Lady Tigers are ready to get a little revenge after a close loss to their rivals in the last match. In Rock Springs, the Lady Wolves controlled early winning the first two sets but Rock Springs stormed back to even the match. Ultimately, it was the Lady Wolves who would take the match with a 15-10 win in the fifth and final set.

Not only is RSHS Head Coach Stephanie Hardesty and the rest of the ladies looking forward to Wednesday’s match, they are also ready for the second half of the season. For most of the first half, the Lady Tigers have competed on the road. The second half brings more home matches.

“We are excited to start the second half of our season – the home games will be very beneficial for us,” Hardesty said. “The girls have been working extremely hard and have shown improvements each match. I am excited to see how we match up against the rest of the teams starting against Green River on Wednesday. The girls are fired up ready to compete.”

The Lady Wolves also are needing a win as they have struggled of late. After going 2-3 in the Casper Invitational, the ladies of Green River have dropped the last two matches. This is the only match this week for both teams.
