Lady Tigers Wrap Up 4A West Regionals in Second

GREEN RIVER – After a strong Friday, the Rock Springs Lady Tigers followed it up on Saturday and finished the 4A West Regional Championships in the second position. Bobbi Parker scored a title run in the 100 meters on Saturday.

The Rock Springs Lady Tigers finished the two-day regional tournament with 115 points. Natrona took the 4A West title with a strong 251 points. Kelly Walsh finished third with 91 followed by Green River in fourth with 87.50 and Evanston in the fifth spot with 83.50. Riverton posted a sixth-place finish.

Bobbi Parker took home the 100-meter gold with a run of 12.40. Toni Wolfe of Natrona finished in second with a time of 12.70. Emma Lapp finished in seventh. Parker just missed a second title in the 200 meters. Her time of 25.49 was just behind Natrona’s Lauren Taubert. Lapp finished the finals in the eighth spot.

Lyndzie Kroupa had two shots at gold on Saturday in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles. She would just miss the top spot in the 100, crossing in second with a time of 15.42. Natrona’s Lauren Taubert took gold posting a 15.07. In the 300, Kroupa again trailed Taubert for her second silver medal of the day. Jenae Rameriz was right behind Kroupa, finishing the 300 hurdles in the third spot.

In the 400-meter finals, two Lady Tigers lined up. At the finish line, MaKenzie Kroupa posted a 4A state qualifying time of 1.00.48 to finish in the third spot. Jenae Rameriz finished in the sixth post for the Lady Tigers.

MaKenzie was not done there on Saturday. Her jump of 34-00.50 in the triple jump put her in the third spot for the championships. Lady Tiger Kyla Henry jumped to a 13th-place finish.

Bailee Radakovich finished third in the 800 on Friday and matched it on Saturday in the 1600. Rock Springs had two more ladies finish in the top ten in the 1600. Sheridan Klingensmith crossed in seventh with Jenae Rameriz right behind in eighth.

In the discus on Saturday, Rock Springs had three ladies just missed the top ten. Emily Quigley finished 11th followed by Sara Thompson in 12th and Kylee Lapp in 13th.

After winning the 4×100 on Friday, the Lady Tiger relay teams were able to bring home two silvers on Saturday. The 4×400 team of MaKenzie Kroupa, Lyndzie Kroupa, Bailee Radakovich and Bobbi Parker posted a time of state qualifying time of 4:06.52. Natrona posted the top time of 4:03.20.

The 4×800 team of Bailee Radakovich, Jenae Rameriz, Sheridan Klingensmith and Isabelle Shields posted a state qualifying time of 10:18.90. Natrona was again strong, posting a time of 10:12.50 to take the title.
