Lady Wolves Basketball Starts Conference Play with Tough Loss to No. 3 Evanston, 57-55


GREEN RIVER– The Green River High School Lady Wolves basketball team dropped a very close, hard fought away game to No. 3 Evanston tonight, 57-55, for the team’s first conference game of the season.

The Lady Wolves fought back from a double-digit deficit in the second half to take the lead, 55-53, with under a minute left. The Lady Red Devils then scored two free throws to tie the game. In the last few seconds of the game, Evanston scored to secure the win.

The Lady Wolves now have a 6-7 record for the season. The number three ranked Evanston move to a 9-3 record.
