Lady Wolves Beat Evanston; Wolves Fall in Close Game

GREEN RIVER — The Green River High School (GRHS) Wolves and the Evanston Red Devils battled it out on the court Thursday night for their final meet up in the regular season. The Lady Wolves earned a season sweep over the Lady Red Devils with Thursday night’s win, while the Red Devils earned a season sweep over the Wolves.

The Lady Wolves beat the Lady Red Devils 53-30, giving them a season sweep over Evanston. The teams spent a chunk of time in the third quarter tied at 24 before the Lady Wolves pulled away with the lead. Evanston wasn’t able to put up any points in the third. GRHS sits at 10-4 on the season with the win.

In the boys game, the Wolves gave it a good fight but ultimately fell to the Red Devils 62-59. The Wolves finished the first half with the lead, but couldn’t hang on to it in the second half to pull off the win. The Wolves lost to the Red Devils in both match ups in the regular season. The Wolves fall to 6-9 on the season.
