GILLETTE — The Green River Lady Wolves swimming and diving were named co-champions this year in the 3A state swimming and diving championships in Gillette.
Green River and Lander made history as it is the first time two teams have ever shared the state title in Wyoming 3A girls swimming history.
The Lady Wolves tied things up in the very last event, finding themselves down six team points behind Lander going into the 400 free relay. Green River finished ahead of Lander in the final event to tie for first place.

Individually, Green River found great success in each event, winning six of the events. Tanith Smith earned two victories in the 100-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle. Courtney Clark finished at the top in the 500-yard freestyle, while Lilly Munoz earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke. The Lady Wolves’ relay teams also won the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
