GREEN RIVER — Thursday marked the start of the high school regional basketball tournaments across the state. The Green River High School (GRHS) Lady Wolves hosted Jackson on Thursday afternoon for the opening round of the 4A Girls Southwest quadrant.

The number one seeded Lady Wolves showed no mercy against Jackson, winning 59-30. Green River’s full court press, which has given many teams trouble throughout the season, helped secure the 29-point victory. Accompanied by sharp shooting and forced turnovers, the Lady Wolves made the opening game seem effortless.

Green River will play the winner of the Evanston and Star Valley at 6 pm at GRHS. Games on Saturday will be played in Riverton to determine seeding for the state tournament next weekend.
