GREEN RIVER – Recently, Laura Harris of Green River was named one of the top two youth volunteers in Wyoming for 2015, in the 20th annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
This is an extraordinary honor; more than 30,000 young people across the country participated in this year’s program.
Tuesday night at the Green River City Council meeting Mayor Pete Rust and the Green River City Council recognized Laura for her outstanding work as a volunteer in her community and for being a role model to ALL of us.
Mayor Rust gave a proclamation stating; “As Mayor of Green River, and on behalf of our city, I commend Laura Harris, our Prudential Spirit of Community Award honoree, for her outstanding volunteer contribution to others and our community.
And therefore, in honor of this achievement, I am proclaiming April 22nd as the Laura Harris Prudential Spirit of Community Recognition Day in Green River.
