SWEETWATER COUNTY — Longtime Sweetwater County resident Lester “Les” Mauch has announced his plans to run for County Commissioner in the 2022 election.
Mauch released the following statement this week:
“I am Lester “Les” Mauch, and I am presenting myself as a Republican candidate for Sweetwater County Commissioner. I am running for the seat of Sweetwater County Commissioner to go to work for Sweetwater County to bring common sense solutions and opportunity and stability for our citizens and future generations.”
“I am 54 years old and a 50-year resident of Sweetwater County. I have been married to Mary for 16 years, and together we have 6 adult children and 7 grandchildren. I have been employed the last 23 years with the City of Rock Springs as an equipment mechanic. I am a member of the Sweetwater Transit Authority (STAR) board of directors where we have brought a quality needed service to our Citizens.”
“I am President of United Mine Workers L.U. 4893 where I have brought fiscally responsible and common-sense solutions that do not harm our community, our city or our employees. I am a member of the City of Rock Springs Health Insurance Committee where we have brought viable solutions to employee’s health insurance and curtailed the rising costs. I am dedicated to public service to our County and communities.”
“I enjoy hunting, fishing, and gardening along with all that Sweetwater County has to offer. I would appreciate your vote for Sweetwater County Commissioner on August 16, 2022.”
