After the recent announcement that Wyoming Rep. Cynthia Lummis would not seek a fifth term in the House, another Wyoming woman has put her name in the hat as a contender for that seat.
Liz Cheney, daughter of of former Vice President Dick Cheney, said “I am taking a serious look at running and will be discussing this with my family and others around the state as I make my decision in the coming weeks” according to this report by the Denver Post.
Cheney, who challenged Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi during last year’s nomination and then dropped out citing health reasons, has lived with her family in Jackson Hole since 2012. Tim Stubson, who is an attorney in Casper and a GOP state lawmaker, also said he intends to run for the vacant seat after Lummis’ departure.
