SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Sweetwater County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 5, for a liquor license application they will be considering for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc.
The liquor license, if approved, will be effective immediately through April 9, 2021.
The Commissioners approved the conditional use permit to build a Love’s Travel Stop west of Green River in September 2019. The establishment is located at 8901 Highway 374, Green River, which is approximately 4,000 feet from the Jamestown Rio-Vista Residential Subdivision.
The public can comment during the public hearing at 8:45 am by calling 307-872-3891, or by sending an email to email@example.com.
[Due to COVID-19 Coronavirus recommendations, the commissioner’s video conference meeting on January 5, at 8:30 am, will not be accessible at the County Courthouse.]
The public is invited to watch the meeting on the Sweetwater County YouTube channel.
The Commissioners will also vote to accept $45,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to participate in the Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program (DCE/SP).
The purpose of the program is to exclusively target drug trafficking organizations involved in illicit cannabis cultivation.
The grant award will be used to pay for operational expenses to primarily focus on highway interdictions, human intelligence gathering, the initial collection of documentary evidence, and other activities in coordination with state and federal partners.
