LONETREE, WY — Another fatal crash occurred around milepost 139 on Wyoming 414 south of Lonetree, WY this weekend claiming the life of a 10-year-old Manila, UT resident.
According the Wyoming Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoon when troopers were dispatched to the scene.
The report states that a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban was headed south on Wyoming 414 when the vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway. The driver corrected to the left, before overcorrecting back to the right. The Chevrolet exited the right side of the road and overturned.
The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as 47-year-old Manila, Utah resident Aimee J. Ball. Ball was wearing her seatbelt and transported to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for injuries sustained in the crash.
The passenger has been identified as a 10-year-old female juvenile resident of Manila, though her name has not been released. She was not wearing her seatbelt correctly and transported by helicopter to Ashley Valley Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Driver inattention is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
This is the 7th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2020 compared to 18 in 2019, 9 in 2018, and 10 in 2017 to date.
