Norma Dee Torpey  (August 29, 1931 – July 27, 2014)

GREEN RIVER – Norma Dee Torpey, 82, of Green River, Wyoming passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center in Green River, Wyoming.

She was born on August 29, 1931 in Fay, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Lewis and Hazel Cotton Sisson.

Mrs. Torpey attended schools in Bentley, Kansas and was a 1949 graduate of Bentley High School. She also attended Business College.

She married Herbert Torpey in San Francisco, California in 1963 and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1981.

Mrs. Torpey was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

She was employed by Adam’s Sales as a Bookkeeper and worked for Experience Works for many years. Her interests included fishing, camping, socializing, painting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son Tim Torpey of Yakima, WA; one daughter Terri Kofoed and husband Tracy of Green River, Wyoming; one brother Lonnie Sisson and wife Maxine of Sebastapol, California; four grandchildren Kaylee Kofoed and Colter Kofoed both of Green River, Wyoming, Danielle Torpey of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Joshua Torpey and wife Stephanie of Selah Washington; one great grandchild Tallon Torpey of Selah, Washington; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers Marvin Sisson and Frank Sisson.

Cremation will take place and there will be no services upon her request.

The family of Norma Dee Torpey will be receiving relatives, friends, cards and condolences at the home of her daughter 531 Schultz, Green River, Wyoming.
